Museum of Me

June 9, 2011
Intel has created one of the most innovative uses of Facebook Connect API. The site takes you on an interactive journey by creating a visual archive of your social life. Photos from your Facebook profile are transformed into a museum exhibition, called "Museum of Me".

Watch it here:

Art in Action

April 27, 2011
Who says you need a paintbrush to create art?

For the BMW Z4 commercial, the campaign used the wheels of the car to create art in a mini movie: An Expression of Joy.

Watch the video to see the car create a giant work of art:

Population Change Infographic

April 9, 2011

I recently stumbled upon an interesting infographic by DataPointed which depicts the population changes
in major US cities between the 2000 and 2010 Census data. Some cities saw major growth, while others
 experienced an influx in emigration, for example Detroit and New Orleans. The shifts in population and
demographics are likely to cause changes in targeting strategies for marketers.

See if you can guess the city below: (scroll down for the answer)

KEY
Blue= population doubled (or more)
Red= everyone left
Grey= no change

Shhh! Ads Get Quieter

April 8, 2011
Ads have been known to be loud. But, not for long

The following ads which use a silent strategy to break through the noise of advertising.

Crystler "Whisper" Ad

AT&T "Laugh" ad

Corona Ad "Ocean" ad

Fancy Feast

Do you think silence will catch the audience's attention?

Touch the Rainbow

April 2, 2011
Skittles uses an interactive and multi sensory approach in their latest clever ad campaign.

Put your finger on the screen and watch what happens.

Skittles hitchhiker ad.

What makes this ad extraordinary is:

  • Participation: It encourages you to participate, which makes it more fun and memorable.
  • Personalization: The ad is centered around you.
  • Empowerment: The ad makes you feel like you have special powers. When the ad can tap into your feelings, it can be more memorable.
  • Humor: The ad has quirky and funny situations, which can make a video go viral.
  • Use of Social Media: What better way to connect with the Gen Y candy-eating crowd than to use YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter?

But the fun doesn't stop there. Check out their newly redesigned website. Created by Brooklyn- based agency, Big Spaceship, the website takes you on a journey, similar to the awesome paralax photo scrolling we saw in Nike. The site is built to heavily and seamlessly integrate the social elements in a very experimental UI:

Now if only they could make the Skittles come through the screen...
